COLLABORATION WITH UCF SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGERS

  • Each month, all UCF Social Media Managers met to discuss university-wide initiatives, social media best practices, and share accomplishments and concerns. I was the first student to ever be invited to these meetings, as a representative of the Office of Student Involvement.

  • The biggest achievement I accomplished while working with this group was the creation of UCF’s first-ever social media policy. This process involved multiple meetings to lay out the policy framework and what should be included. The final policy can be found here.

  • As the Communications Intern, one of my primary duties was to recruit and manage the OSI Street Team, which was a group of student volunteers who assisted in carrying out marketing campaigns, covering campus events, and tabling at new student orientation during the summer.

  • One improvement I made to the program was getting the students more involved with monthly lunch ‘n’ learns with marketing professionals, 1:1 office hours for mentoring, and giving them photography lessons to use for capturing campus events.
